We use three Neurotoxins in our practice, Botox® being the most commonly known brand. However, don’t discount the others. You may find this article on Dysport interesting. Ultimately, they all work the same: Strategically injecting a botulinum toxin directly into facial muscles with a fine needle will block chemical signals from reaching the nerves, which temporarily relax the muscles responsible for the motions of facial activity. This creates a more relaxed, alert appearance, leaving you with natural facial expressions. Too much however, and you look a bit frozen. Other side effects of may also include sagging muscles (poor injecting), or difficulty using a straw (read about our lip treatments here).
